Divorce Papers Online
Divorce papers online is a relatively new service that can bring a lot less stress into the lives of those who need to use it. We all know that life sometimes just doesn’t turn out like we plan. Even with the best intentions people change. It’s an unfortunate fact of life and when it happens it can be devastating for all the family members on both sides.
Another ugly aspect of this situation is the horrendous attorney fees that could pile up when having to go through the divorce process. It could cost you plenty of money and tie up not only all your resources but all of your time and energy as well. And as bad as that sounds it may not come out well for either party involved either.
If you and your spouse can agree to a “friendly” divorce where both parties can come together and figure out a way to just split everything up in a fair way in which both of you can go on with your lives, and you do not have kids involved under the age of 18 then you could file for a no fault divorce and get your divorce paper online.
Standard Legal’s No Fault Divorce software contains all of the background information, detailed instructions and fill-in-the-blank legal forms necessary to prepare and file an uncontested divorce — commonly known as a “No Fault Divorce”, “Uncontested Divorce” or a “Dissolution.”
In the forms filed with the court (either a “Complaint for Divorce” or a “Petition for Dissolution”, depending on the state), the parties ask the court to legally terminate the marriage. Some states’ divorce laws require one party to be named as a plaintiff (the one filing for the divorce) and the other party a defendant (the party defending the action), while some states consider the parties to be “co-petitioners” or “petitioner” and “respondent”. In any case, each state recognizes the right of married couples to obtain a no-fault divorce as a way to end the marriage without considerable burden.
There are some specific requirements for using the forms contained in this No Fault Divorce software:
- First, both the husband and wife must agree on ALL of the issues surrounding property division and spousal support (if applicable);
- Second, the husband and wife must live separate and apart for a period of time as required by state law (see STATE DIVORCE REQUIREMENTS CHART for details);
- Third, the signature of each spouse is REQUIRED on all of the documents to be filed with the court, showing that each spouse consents to the divorce and its terms;
- Fourth (and somewhat obviously), the whereabouts of each spouse must be known, as both persons must consent to the terms of the divorce and must be willing to sign the documents. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ONE PERSON TO FILE A NO-FAULT DIVORCE ON BEHALF OF BOTH PARTIES, since full agreement and cooperation of both persons is required!
DO NOT BUY OR USE THIS LEGAL FORMS SOFTWARE IF ALL OF THESE CONDITIONS CANNOT BE MET! If total agreement cannot be reached by both persons involved on ALL of the issues related to ending the marriage, then a “no fault” divorce cannot be completed and legal representation should be sought.
But if both parties are completely agreeable and can work together to complete and file the forms with the court, then the software offered by Standard Legal makes the process as simple, clear and understandable as possible — and much more affordable than both parties hiring their own attorneys and spending weeks in court.
